Chapter 26, Problem 20P
Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The differences in the distribution of antibodies in the cells of various patients during the familial hypercholesterolemia should be determined.

Concept introduction:

When the levels of cholesterol rise abruptly then it is a condition known as hypercholesterolemia. When this disease is genetic then it is known as familial hypercholesterolemia. In this disease, the concentration of cholesterol is very high even in young children. Causes of familial hypercholesterolemia are a mutation that results in this disease. Also, the malfunctioning of the Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) receptor results in this disease.

Proteins that defend the body. Explain the mechanism
give correct option.  Polyisocyanates are involved in the induction of the full spectrum of hypersensitivity responses and nonimmune inflammatory reactions including asthma. Which of the following statement is not correct with respect to these observations and impact on immunity? a. A person once sensitized to polyisocyanate can demonstrate group reactivity to this set of compounds. b. Individuals having an acute exposure to toluene diisocyanate is more likely to develop hypersensitivity then individuals chronically exposed to low vapor levels. c. A mechanism for this hypersensitivity is the toluene diisocyanate forms a covalent bond with proteins that are part of the airway resulting in the immune system developing a response to “self” proteins. d. Adaptive immunity can interact or “message” the Innate immune system to up or down regulate its expression. e. All of the statements are correct.
