Introduction

Minerals are required in small amounts by the body and are one of the five categories of nutrients. The human body requires adequate amounts of seven minerals (calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, sodium, chlorine, and magnesium) and trace amounts of others (iron, copper, zinc, and fluorine).
