Introduction:

Neutralization is a reaction whose one of products is a salt.

Neutralization is a chemical reaction in which an acid’s hydronium ions and a base’s hydroxyl ions combine to form unionized water molecules. In this reaction, an acid and a base react to form a salt and water molecules.

Salt is an ionic compound that dissociates in water to form a positive ion, and a negative ion. These are not hydrogen or hydroxyl ions. Normal salts form as a product of a neutralization reaction. Salts can also be acidic or basic depending upon the partial replacement of hydrogen ions in an acid or hydroxide ions in a base.
