The superficial veins are very large and can be easily identified even though they are found under the skin. They originate as a dorsal venous network that drains into cephalic vein, and later inclines to the forearm anteriorly. Thetwo kinds of superficial veins situated on the surface of the foot dorsally are great and small saphenous veins that emerge from the dorsal venous arch.
