Question
Chapter 2, Problem 20RA
Summary Introduction
To review:
Similarities and differences between fat and oil, and the significance of degree of saturation of fatty acids.
Introduction:
Lipids are water-insoluble molecules as they are hydrophobic in nature. They are soluble in organic solvents like ether, benzene, and related compounds. These are the secondary sources of energy after glucose molecules. Lipids are present in different forms according to their structures and functions. Some of them are fatty acids, glycerol, triacylglycerol, fats or oils.
