Concept explainers
Interpretation:
The unit bushels, pecks, firkins and frails should be described.
Concept introduction:
There are different types of measurement system in the world. The most widely accepted system of measurement is SI. SI units are international system of units that helps us in measuring the different aspects. The SIsystem helps to standardize the measurement system throughout the globe.
Answer to Problem 125A
Bushel is 64 pints, peck is 1/4th of bushel and firkin is 9 gallon.
Explanation of Solution
Bushels:
The bushel is the unit to measure the volume, which is equal to the 8 gallons or 36.4 liter according to British standards and 64 US pints, which is 35.2 liter approximately according to United states standards.
Peck:
It is unit to measure volume, which is equal to 8 dry quarts (8 US pints), approximately 537.6 cubic inches or 8.810 liters. It is used to measure volume and equal to 1/4th bushel.
Firkin:
It is also a unit of volume which is equal to 9 imperial gallons, measuring 40.914 liters.
Frails:
The units Frail is not used for measuring.

- We know that trivalent cations (Cr3+, Mn3+, V3+) with a large difference between octahedral and tetrahedral EECC, form exclusively normal spinels. Bivalent cations (Ni2+ and Cu2+) with high EECC, form inverse spinels.
