The ways in which the northern and western blotting differs from southern blotting.

Introduction:

Blotting is of three types: northern blotting, southern blotting, and western blotting. All these blots are used in molecular biology for the detection of RNA, DNA, and protein.

Northern blotting is used for the detection of RNA molecule in the mixture of RNA, Western blotting is used for the detection of specific protein, and southern blotting is used for the detection of specific DNA molecule in a DNA sample.
