Concept introduction:
Researchers James Tiedje and Yong-Guan Zhu conducted an experiment to know about the consequences of antibiotic use in Chinese pig farms. They collected four samples of manure from each of three Chinese farms where antibiotics were added to the food. They also collected manure from a pig farm which was never exposed to antibiotic and kept it as a control.
