The signs of chronic granulomatous disease.
Introduction:
Chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) is a genetic disorder characterized by low responsiveness of phagocytes. When the ineffective phagocytes shut down, die and build-up, they form masses in the infected tissues called the granuloma. Though the patients with CGD have normal immune system, they are unable to fight against some microorganisms.
