To review:
The amount of blood in the left ventricle prior to atrial contraction.
Introduction:
The heart which is composed of four chambers that are- two atria and two ventricles act as the main blood pumping structure. Systole (contraction) and diastole (relaxation) causes the pumping of blood to the lungs as well as every tissue and organ within the body. Diastole causes filling of the left ventricle with blood from the veins which has higher pressure than the atrial pressure.
