Question
Chapter 13, Problem 12aCP
Summary Introduction
To review:
The following:
1. The basic structural patterns of arteries and veins along with their structural differences.
2. The contribution of these structural differences to the functions performed by both types of vessels.
Introduction:
The blood from the heart is transported via the arteries and veins throughout the body. The arteries transport oxygen-rich blood from the heart to various body parts except the pulmonary artery, which transports deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs. The veins transport deoxygenated blood from various body parts to the heart except the pulmonary vein, which transports oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart.
