Chapter 10, Problem 9SQ
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Bacteriophages are viruses which consist of head and a tail. The two types of bacteriophage A and B caused infection in the strain of bacterium. The outer part of the head of the virus is composed of proteins and is called as a capsomere, which were formed by the genome of bacteriophage A. The components inside the capsomere consist of the nucleic acid material called as DNA which will be coded by the genome of bacteriophage B. The tail binds to the bacteria. The DNA gets injected inside the bacterium and fuses with the chromosome of the bacterium leading to the expression of the viral genes of bacteriophage B.
