To Explain: The reason for higher floatation in salt water than the fresh water.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The extent of floatation depends on the density of liquid. If the density of the liquid is higher then, the liquid provides higher floatation.
Density of salt water is higher than the fresh water as salt particles are dissolved in it. Because of the higher density of salt water, it displaces less salt water to equal the floating weight as compared to in the in fresh water. Because of this higher density, humans float higher in salt water as compared to fresh water.
Conclusion:
The concept of flotation is based on the phenomenon of density. Salt water has the higher density as compared to the fresh water.
