Whether the apparent weight of a balloon filled with air is same as that of empty balloon.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The air inside the balloon exerts buoyant force in upwards direction and volume of air displaced is equal to volume of balloon.
The amount of buoyant force exerted in both the cases will be same as amount of air displaced in both the cases is same and equal to volume of balloon. For empty balloon, air outside exerts buoyant force and for filled balloon buoyant force is exerted due to air inside.
Conclusion:
The apparent weight will be same in both the cases.
