In the daytime, water is lightly heated but comparatively the building remains cool. On the other hand, in the night time, heat is released from water which keeps the house warm.

What is considered as a poor insulator but this is not due to any insulation property, it is because water has the capability to store heat or thermal mass.

It is obvious that if there is higher or lower temperature than normal room temperature, it will be uncomfortable. This can happen if building has thick walls which can be overcome by using water as it makes the construction material lighter.
