Interpretation : Lithium-ion batteries and lead-acid batteries are to be compared.

Concept Introduction : An electrochemical device (composed of one or more electrochemical cells) that can be charged with an electric current and discharged as required might be referred to as a battery. Primary batteries and secondary batteries are the two basic categories into which batteries are divided.

The lithium-ion batteries are advantageous when compared to lead-acid batteries.

Lithium-ion batteries have more advantages over lead-acid batteries.

It is light in weight so used in electric cars.

Since lithium-ion batteries do not contain corrosive acids and toxic metals, it is safer for the environment.

There are also some disadvantages to using lithium-ion batteries.

The lithium battery takes time for recharging.

The cost of lithium batteries is expensive.

They are used in small applications such as laptops, and computers.

If it becomes less expensive, it can be used for larger and energy-demanding applications like electric or hybrid vehicles.
