Introduction:
The homologous chromosomes are a single pair of chromosomes that recombine together to form new traits during the process of the fusion of the gametes. The “law of segregation” explains the separation of the homologous chromosomes during the division of the cells leading to the formation of gametes with a single pair of chromosomes.
