Given information:The following angles have been given

  ${100}^0$ supplementary to ${(x+40)}^0$

  ${(x+40)}^0$ parallel to ${(3x-30)}^0$

We can make out the following two equations from the given data

  ${(x+40)}^0+{100}^0={180}^0\to x=40$

And

  ${(x+40)}^0={(3x-30)}^0\to x=35$

Hence, we can see that from the two-equation given here, the values of x do not match. Thus, the lines are not parallel.
