Chapter 8, Problem 8.34ASME

(Writing the Word Equivalent of a Check Amount) Continuing the discussion of the previous exercise, we reiterate the importance of designing check-writing systems to prevent alteration of check amounts. One common security method requires that the check amount be both written in numbers and “spelled out” in words. Even if someone is able to alter the numerical amount of the check, it’s extremely difficult to change the amount in words. Write a program that inputs a numeric check amount and writes the word equivalent of the amount. For example, the amount 52.43 should be written as

FIFTY TWO and 43/100

[PYTHON LANGUAGE] You are planning an outing with some friends and need to calculate the total price of the tickets. A regular ticket usually costs $3.99 and a stu- dent ticket costs only $2.99. If the total number of tickets being ordered (including both students and regular tickets) is at least 10, then a 10% discount is applied to the order. However, if it is a holiday, then the at-least-ten group discount is only 5% (not 10%). Write a program that takes three lines of input: the number of reg- ular tickets, the number of student tickets, and an integer indicating whether it is a holiday (1) or not (0). It prints a float giving the total cost. Be sure to define and use constants for REGULAR TICKET PRICE and STUDENT TICKET PRICE. Write your program in a file named tickets.py.
(PYTHON) A Krishnamurthy number is a number which sum of the factorial of its digits is equal to the number itself. For example: Let us consider the number 145. Factorial sum = 1! + 4! + 5! = 1 + 24 + 120 = 145. Therefore 145 is a Krishnamurthy number. Other examples include: 1, 2, 40585. Write a program that does the following: • asks the user to input an integer. • computes whether the number is a Krishnamurthy number. • then finally prints the result. Note: You are not allowed to use the built-in function math.factorial.
