Concept introduction:

For adiabatic steam turbine, Rankine cycle is used to describe its principle. This cycle is an idealized thermodynamic cycle for which pressure constant and it converts part of heat into mechanical work.. Hence, an isentropic process of turbine is called idealized process. There is no heat transfer occur in the turbine, which indicates that work output is the desired output from a turbine.
