The reason for the movement of an electron to the higher or lower energy orbit is to be explained.
Concept Introduction:
According to Bohr’s model, an electron, a negatively-charged particle, rotates around the nucleus, which is composed of positively-charged particles, with a certain energy. The pathway of rotation is called the orbit.
The energy of an orbit is quantized. The size and energy of the orbits increase on moving outward from the nucleus.
