The pH of a solution depends on the concentration of hydroxonium ions in the solution. The more the number of hydroxonium ions, more will be the pH of the solution.
Explanation of Solution
Pure water is neutral at all temperatures. The pH of water is 7 at any temperature. Because when water molecules dissociate at any temperature, there will be same number of H+ and OH- ions in the solution. So, the pH will remain same.
As water is atmospheric in nature, it can act as an acid as well as a base. The auto-ionization of water molecules results in the formation of hydroxide ion and hydronium ion. This is represented as follows:
