The Lewis structure for
Concept Introduction:
Lewis structure:
Lewis structure otherwise known as Lewis dot diagrams or electron dot structure that shows the bond between atoms and lone pairs of electrons that are present in the molecule. Lewis structure represents each atom and their position in structure using the chemical symbol. Excess electrons forms the lone pair are given by pair of dots, and are located next to the atom.
Lone pair:
A lone pair is given by a pair of outer most electrons that are not shared with another atom, otherwise called as non bonding pair. These are generally found in the valence shell of atom and are identified by Lewis structure. Pairs of electrons are considered as lone pairs when two electrons are paired and are not participated in

- Write the Lewis Structure for methyl radical (CH3) and its other resonance structures if applicable.arrow_forwardMany free radicals combine to form molecules that do not contain any unpaired electrons. The driving force for the radical- radical combination reaction is the formation of a new electron-pair bond. Bond energy is the energy required to break one mole of the bond in the gas phase. Since it takes energy to break a bond, bond energies are always positive. Conversely, energy is released when bonds are formed. Thus, the enthalpy change for a reaction can be approximated from Part A Calculate the bond energy per mole for breaking all the bonds in methane, CH4.
