Chapter 6, Problem 6.19P

Construct a curvilinear- square map of the potential field between two parallel circular cylinders, one of 4 cm radius inside another of 8 cm radius. The two axes are displaced by 2.5 cm. These dimensions are suitable for the drawing. As a check on the accuracy, compute the capacitance per meter from the sketch and from the exact expression:

C = 2 τ ε cosh 1 [ ( a 2 + b 2 D 2 ) / ( 2 a b ) ]

Where a and b are the conductor radii and D is the axis sepatation.

Suppose the space between the plates of the capacitor is filled with equal thickness of the same dielectrics but arranged as shown in the figure. Eachhaving an area of 8.0x10 -4 m 2 and separated from each otherby 5.0 mm. Half of the space between the plates is filled withglass and the other with mica. What is its capacitance?
Q14. An air filled parallel plate capacitor is arranged such that the upper plate carries surface charge density 2C/m2 and lower plate carries surface charge density -2C/m as shown in figure. The electric field intensity under the bottom plate will be -2a/ɛ0 -a,/ɛ0 None of these ロロ
#2 A capacitor with a capacitance of 4.023567436209E-10 pF is a parallel-plate capacitor. Each plate has an area of 0.0935m ^ 2 and a dielectric thickness of 0.0823 m. How many parallel sections are there if the dielectric constant of the material is 8?
