Introduction: Animal kingdom show two types of fertilization that include external fertilization and internal fertilization. In external fertilization, the fusion of sperm and egg takes place outside the body, whereas, in internal fertilization, the fusion of sperm and egg occurs inside the female body. Based on these criteria, the animals are classified into viviparous, ovoviviparous, and oviparous animals.
