Introduction: Selective permeability of a cell membrane refers to the selective nature of the membrane in allowing entry and exit of substances through it. The selective permeability acts as a barrier for outflow and inflow of certain molecules. It conserves the cytoplasm of the cell and helps in the sustenance of vital biochemical processes inside the cell. Hence cell membrane can decide upon which of the molecules to pass through it.
