Introduction:
There are two types of structures that are present in long bones: diaphysis (or shaft) and the epiphyses. The diaphysis is the portion that makes up the majority of bone length, and it is made up of compact bone, which contains fat tissue (adipose) and bone marrow. On the other hand, epiphyses are present at the end of the long bones. It is made up of a thin layer of the compact bone that surrounds the area, which is filled up with the spongy bone.
