A u_tube whose arms are open to the atmosphere. Now equal volumes of water and light oil. (density =49.4kg/m^3)are poured from different arms. A person blows from the oil side of the u_tube until the contact surface of the two fluid moves to the bottom u_tube, and thus the liquid levels in the two arms are the same .if the fluid height in each arm is 30in,Determine the gauge pressure the person exerts on the oil by blowing.
2) A Plate is dragging between two walls by a velocity of 0.054 m/s. The space
between plate and lower wall is 30 mm and filled with oil while the space between
the plate and the upper wall is 20 mm and filled with water. The velocity
distribution in oil between plate and lower wall is given by: u = 60(0.06y – y),
where y is measured in m and u in m/s. determine the force p that is required to
maintain the velocity of plate when the area of plate is 1 m?.

Two vertical circular cylindrical tanks are connected near the bottom by a short tube having a cross-sectional area of 725 cm2. The inside diameters of the tanks are 3m and 1.5 m, respectively. The tanks contain oil. With the valve in the tube closed, the oil surfaces are 4m in the larger tank and 0.6 m in the smaller above the tube. With c=0.78, find the time (in seconds) required for the surfaces to equalize following a quick opening of the valve. Assume the properties of the tube to be similar to that of an orifice.
