The plant hormones also called as phytohormones are chemical substances secreted by specific cells that regulate the growth of plants. Various plant hormones influence many aspects of the life cycle of the plant. There are six important types of plant hormones named as auxin, gibberellin, cytokinin, abscisic acid, florigen, and ethylene.
