Introduction:

Growth is defined as the multiplication of the meristematic cells to form new cells. These new cells differentiate to perform specialized functions. Based on growth pattern and the time of division of meristematic cells, growth is classified into two categories. Primary growth is the growth that increases the length and branching of plant both above and below the soil and secondary growth increases the thickness of the stem.
