Chapter 40.3, Problem 3C
Summary Introduction

To compare: The functions of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), creatine phosphate, and glycogen in muscle contraction and contrast them.

Introduction: Skeletal muscles are responsible for the production of motion in the body. When a muscle contracts, then the bone attached to it either pulls or pushes in the motion of articulation. In vertebrates, the most abundant tissue that is found in the body is called muscle fibers. They are composed of units of muscle fibers. For the purpose of the motion, muscle fibers require energy for their functioning. In muscle contraction, the major role is played by the presence of ATP, creatine phosphate, and glycogen.
