The difference between the parietal and visceral layers of the serous membrane.

Introduction:

The serous membrane is also known as “serosa.” It is composed of a simple squamous epithelium called mesothelium and a thin underlying layer of loose connective tissue. The mesothelium is derived from mesoderm. The serous membrane produces a thin, watery serous fluid, which is derived from blood plasma. The serous membrane is composed of two parts-parietal layer and visceral layer.
