To Find: The formation as a result of the movement of marching band members.
Answer to Problem 3CYU
Two parallel lines
Explanation of Solution
Given:
After forming a line, every even member of a marching band turned the face towards home team and marched 5 paces. At the same time, the odd members turned in the opposite direction and marched 5 paces.
Given that initially, all the members were standing at 50-yard line.
The movement of the even and odd members is in opposite direction to each other.
And the formation will result in two straight lines which will be equidistant from the 50-yard line i.e. 5 paces.
And the lines will be parallel to each other.
Therefore, this movement will result in formation of two parallel lines.
