Introduction:  Plants are mainly multicellular, predominantly photosynthetic eukaryotes of the kingdom Plantae. The stem is one of two major structural axes of a vascular plant. The stem supports the flowers, leaves, fruits, and transport fluid between shoots and roots in the phloem and xylem. It also stores nutrients and generates living tissue.
