Question
Chapter 35, Problem 3S
Summary Introduction
To design:
An imaginary modifies root, shoot, or leaf and to make a case for giving the reasons for it to be the best example of the modified plant organ as the plant organs undergo many modification to deal with environmental challenges.
Introduction:
Stem supports the leaves and transports the water and nutrients in all parts of the plant. The main function of the leaves is to use sunlight to produce water and sugar by the process of photosynthesis. Roots support the plant as well as transport the water and nutrients from the soil to different parts of the plant.

Roots, stems and leaves have become modified in a variety of ways over evolutionary time.describe any two actual modified plant structures, including their function and whether they are modified roots, stems or leaves.
Create a table to compare and contrast the following sets of terms. The table should define each term and outline the significance of each for plant function.

- A typical plant body consists of basic organs such as roots, stems, and leaves. Over millions of years, these plant organs have become adapted for a variety of functions. Choices can be repeated and answers can be two or more. Just write the letter with the correct answers. A. Reproduction (plantlets or buds may grow along with blades and petioles' notches, bases, apices, and tips.) B. Aeration (Increase petiole size to increase buoyancy) C. Support (As in the banana plant, the presence of tendrils, hooks, and supporting leaf bases.) D. Protection (Bud scales, motile leaves, spines, stipules, and bracts are all present.) E. Water storage (This is particularly important in desert plants with succulent leaves that store water in their large, thin-walled parenchyma cells. Certain plants, such as onions and lilies, store food in their leaves.) F. Attraction (Some plants have petaloid flower bracts or brightly variegated leaves.) G. This plant has no roots either but has small root-like structures called rhizoids which help anchor them to the ground. Water is also required in order for fertilization. C.
