Summary Introduction
To determine: Whether the intestinal epithelium cell which releases its secretion into the extracellular fluid is an endocrine cell or exocrine cell.
Introduction: A bunch of secretory cells combines to form endocrine or exocrine glands. When the embryo is developing, epithelial cells grow and attach to connective tissues beneath it. After development, exocrine cells remain attached to the connective cells whereas endocrine glands detach and release hormones directly into the blood.
