The definition of given terms.
Introduction:
The basic working unit found in the brain is the neuron. Neuron is the specialized cell that helps in the transmission of sensory information. These cells transport information to muscle, nerve cells, and glands.
Explanation of Solution
Drug − These are chemical substances that change the way in which the body and mind works.
Dopamine − It is the type of neurotransmitter that helps in sending message between two nerve cells. Dopamine release makes us to feel pleasure.
Stimulant − It is the drug that increases the activity of the central nervous system and the other body parts. Examples are cocaine and amphetamines.
Depressant − It is a kind of drug that lowers the neurotransmission level in the body and parts of the brain. Depressant lowers the level of arousal or stimulation.
Tolerance − Tolerance is the capacity or ability of an organism to survive in the given difficult environmental conditions.
Addiction − It is a kind of brain disease that is caused by use of compulsive substance despite knowing its harmful consequences. Example, people with addiction of alcohol and drug use.
