Concept explainers
To determine:
The advantages and disadvantages of living in the chosen biome.
Introduction:
The large-scale environments that are distinguished from each other on the basis of their temperature ranges and amount of rain are termed as biomes. There are eight terrestrial biomes around the world.
Explanation of Solution
The chosen biome is temperate rainforest. This type of rainforest is found in temperate climate. Temperate rainforests receive huge amount of rainfall, and have cooler environment then tropical rainforests.
Advantages − In this biome, there is enough supply of water and food. Due to heavy rainfall water is always available here and food is obtained from rich vegetation around there. Shelter here can be made of woods and leaves easily.
Disadvantages − Many insects and small creatures are found in temperate rainforests. These insects can be poisonous and sometimes can harm the human beings. Moreover, excessive rainfall can also make survival hard. Electricity supply is not easily available here.
