Introduction:
The basic functional unit of a kidney is a nephron. Nephrons are coiled tubes that consist of the following parts glomerulus, proximal convoluted tubule, Henle's loop, distal convoluted tubule, and collecting ducts. Nephrons remove the wastes from the blood and return the beneficial substances. Urine formation occurs in three steps in the nephron, filtration, reabsorption, and secretion.
