Chapter 23.2, Problem 1CC
Summary Introduction
Bacillus genus belongs to the family of Bacillaceae. Christian Gottfried Ehrenberg named the genus Bacillus in 1853. This genus consists of chemoheterotrophic rods and it has the ability to form endospores. Generally, the rods are motile with peritrichous flagella. Members present in this genus are facultative or aerobic, and catalase positive.
