To determine:
The reason due to which helper T cells are sometimes called CD4 or T4 cells and the reason cytotoxic T cells are called CD8 or T8 cells.
Introduction:
T cells have a cluster of glycoproteins on their surface known as CD4 glycoprotein. The CD8 binds with MHC (Major Histocompatibility complex), majorly with class, I MHC protein. The CD8 acts as a co-receptor for the cytotoxic T cell receptor.
