Introduction:

The spleen is the largest lymphatic organ in the body. It is covered by a dense irregular connective tissue capsule. The capsule sends extensions called trabeculae into the organ. The spleen does not have a cortex and medulla. The cells around the trabeculae are subdivided into a white pulp and red pulp.
