Introduction:

The oropharynx is the central portion of the pharynx. The epiglottis is a flap posterior to the surface of the tongue. The tonsils are the site for the elimination of the germs and bacteria that enter along with the air inhaled. The foreign bodies are eliminated with the help of the antibodies produced by the immune cells.
