Portal hypertension is a condition where the portal venous system blood pressure is high. The blood vessels are categorized into arteries, veins, and capillaries. The arteries carry oxygen rich blood from the heart and transport it throughout the body whereas the veins receive deoxygenated blood from the body parts and transport it to the heart. Splenomegaly is a condition where the spleen becomes enlarged.
