Lymphoid organs in the body are associated with the task of storage and proliferation of lymphocytes. They also provide the site of action for lymphocytes. The lymphoid organs are divided into two categories, namely primary lymphoid organs and secondary lymphoid organs.

It sometimes is difficult to distinguish the different lymphoid organs from one another in histological sections. How would you tell the thymus from a lymph node?
