Chapter 20, Problem 10CR
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The reason for considering the kidneys, heart, GI tract, and gonads part of the endocrine system.
Introduction:
The endocrine system work to maintain homeostasis in the body. It affects specific target cells using chemical messengers called hormones. The endocrine glands are ductless and secrete their molecular products (hormones) directly into the blood. These hormones transport through the body to the target cells by the circulatory system.
