Explain how the Active Low Pass Filter works in
detail, as shown in a drawing
1) a) A 1V 5 kHz signal is put into a low pass filter with a cut-off frequency of 2 kHz. What will the frequency of the output signal be?
b) A 1V 15 kHz sinewave signal is put into a low pass filter with a 2 kHz cut-off frequency. The output signal will have how much amplitude approximately?
Diode limiters or clippers in the audio portion of a receiver can typically remove
sporadic, high-amplitude noise transients of short duration, such as impulse noise.
The limiting or clipping threshold level is usually set just above the audio signal's
maximum peak level. Another circuit alternative for mitigating the effects of high-
amplitude noise pulses is a blanking circuit. A blanking circuit, in essence, detects a
high-amplitude, short-duration noise spike and mutes the receiver by turning off a
piece of the receiver for the duration of the pulse. The problem of limiter and blanker
circuit is:
Select your answer.
Limiter and blanker circuits have little effect on transit-time noise,
because noise power is generally much lower than the signal power level.
Limiters and blanker circuits works only when a shot noise surges
to a level above the signal power level.
Limiter and blanker circuits have little effect on white noise,
because noise power is generally much lower than the…
