Chapter 16, Problem 10WWWTS
Summary Introduction
To Determine:
If the sympathetic nerve fibers that originate only from the thoracic and lumbar spinal cord innervate organs in the head.
Introduction:
The sympathetic nervous system is composed of autonomic nerves from thoracic and lumbar parts of the spinal cord. It has comparatively short preganglionic and long post-ganglion fibers. It is also called the thoracolumbar division. The preganglionic neurosomas are found in the lateral horns and nearby gray areas of the spinal cord. Their fibers leave via T1 through L2 and lead to a nearby sympathetic ganglion chain.
