Concept Introduction:
Genetic drift is a random change in allele frequencies in a population. It is also termed as sampling drift. Genetic drift is responsible for the elimination of an allele from the population. Sampling error confers the difference in the population and sample through which it was illustrated. Genetic drift may obtain by population bottleneck or founder effect in a population.
