Formula used:

Surface area of a sphere $=4\pi r^2$

And radius of the sphere (r) $=\frac{d}{2}$ , where r is the radius of the sphere and d is diameter of the sphere.

Calculation:

  $\begin{array}{l}r=\frac{6}{2}\\ r=3\end{array}$

Surface area of given sphere

  $\begin{array}{l}=4\pi r^2\\ =4·\pi ·{\left(3\right)}^2\\ =4\times \pi \times 9\\ =113.1\\ \sim 110\left(\text{to nearest tenth}\right)\end{array}$

Hence, surface area of given sphere is 110 cm².
